Country Living

I know that this update is long overdue. We have relocated to Lake City, Michigan and have been enjoying the slower pace of our new country lifestyle. Moving after 47+ years in one home, and 10+ years in a storefront took the better part of 7 months. But we are fully moved and our home in River Rouge has sold after only 30 days on the market. A true blessing.

As far as reopening my business, at this time, it will not be until mid-2023. I look forward to designing and building my new studio and will keep you posted on progress.

I do have information to share about a new longarm quilter. Wylee’s Harvest Quilting & Goods is owned and operated by Nicole Frasier in Maybee, Michigan. You can visit her website wyleesharvest.com She is very nice, and her work is wonderful.

I hop you have a Happy Thanksgiving and a very Merry Christmas. Wishing everyone good health and a happy life.

Life is always changing

Lots of things has happened since I posted last in December of 2021. I have decided to move up north and close my current location at the end of June 2022. I’m already booked out to the last pick-up date of June 28th.

I have had a great 12 years here in my Wyandotte shop and have been blessed to meet so many wonderful people. I have made so many really great friendships and will miss everyone.

But life goes on and this will be the next chapter in my life. A nice country setting, grow a garden, let life slow down a bit. I do plan on continuing my longarm business from my new home. It will take a while to get it up and running but I will keep you posted.

I want to Thank all of you for making my business such a success.

Welcome Fall

Here we are at the end of September and Fall is my favorite time of the year. The cooler weather, trees are turning to golden/reddish orange colors. It’s just so beautiful. I hope all of you are enjoying this change of season as much as I do. I pray all are in good health.

I want everyone to know that I’m booked until the Christmas break which starts for me on December 19th. I will accept quilts for pick up dates starting on January 12, 2021.

I will be leaving for Christmas/New Year break on December 19, 2020 through January 4 ,2021. Reopening on January 5, 2021.

Take care and happy quilting!

Sad News

On Sunday, July 26, 2020 my sweet Mother peacefully passed away.  I have been very blessed to have her with us for such a long and beautiful life.  She was 90.

I shall be closed this week.  Will reopen on Tuesday, August 4th at the normal hours, Tuesday thru Friday from 10 am to 5 pm.

Sincerely,

Diane

Changing Schedules

I have decided to change the days that I will be open.  This is the reason why.

Since the shutdowns in the beginning of March, I have not been able to visit my Mother, who celebrated her 90th Birthday last weekend.  Starting on July 20th her home is starting outdoor visitation.  Since my Mother lives in house two, Tuesdays are the day that I get to visit her. I will be able to sit with her outdoors for thirty minutes.  She lives in Ohio and I’m in Michigan.

Starting on Monday, July 20th, the shop will be open Monday-Wednesday-Thursday-Friday from 10 am to 5 pm.  Closed Tuesday-Saturday-Sunday.

Please call for an appointment to drop off and pick up of quilts. 734-324-0092

Thank you for your support and business.  Stay safe and healthy.

Diane

Update on Procedures

Good morning,

Now that I am open for business, which I’m very grateful, I will be accepting quilts by appointments only.  This will help keep traffic down while you are here and I am writing up your order(s).

The hours for drop off and pick ups will be 10:00 am to 4:30 pm Tuesday through Friday. Please call to make your appointment. 734-324-0092

I hope that you are all doing well and enjoying the summer weather.

Thank you for being so supportive during this time.  I appreciate all the business you have been giving me.

Sincerely, Diane

Closing Update

NOTE:    WHILE WRITING THIS POST, THE GOVERNOR OF MICHIGAN JUST ANNOUNCED THAT THE STATE WILL BE CLOSED UNTIL MAY 15,2020

I hope this note finds you in good health and surviving the shutdown.

I’m sure most of you are piecing your quilt tops and can’t wait to have them quilted.  I totally understand.  I had to cancel all my vacation plans, so I’ve been busy staying up on my work because I can come to the shop alone and just work.

When the state reopens the businesses, I will be calling all the customers who have quilts waiting here to be picked up.  I will set up a pick-up time for you to come in due to the fact the the shop isn’t that big and I don’t want to get over crowded.  More time will allowed for those who are picking up and dropping off new quilts.

So, stay healthy and I will be here when this is over.  🙂

Updated Calendar 2018-2019

Good evening,

I have updated my calendar for the rest of 2018 and the beginning of 2019. It takes a bit of time to show up on the website (if I did it right).

I realize that to some it may seem like a lot of down time but I need to get my life back on track.  With Steve’s passing, has put me into a whirlwind.  I just need to figure out a good routine to accommodate  everyday living.  Steve made my work life easy.  But I’m getting there.

I am busy at the shop, we are up to November 6th for pick-ups. If you need quilts for Christmas, you need to get your tops finished soon.

Here are the dates I’ll be closed:

  • June 29, 2018 thru July 4, 2018 – 4th of July
  • August 31, 2018 thru September 5, 2018 – Labor Day
  • October 27, 2018 thru November 5, 2018 – Vacation
  • November 22, 2018 thru November 26 , 2018 – Thanksgiving
  • December 19, 2018 thru January 7, 2019 – Christmas/New Years 2019*

Thank you everyone for the wonderful support, love and prayers. It warms my heart.  I so appreciate all of you.

Take care, Diane

Thank you

From the bottom of my heart, Thank you for all the kind words and prayer.

For those who may not know, my sweet husband, Steve, lost his battle with cancer on April 26,2018.  My heart is broken, but I know Steve is at peace and in the arms of our Lord.   I am surrounded by my loving children, two grandchildren, loving family and friends.

I have reopened the shop and the regular hours now:

Tuesday – Friday 10:00 am to 5:30 pm, Saturday’s by appointment only, closed Sunday and Monday.

I’m grateful for having the opportunity to serve my quilting family.  I am a little behind schedule but everyone has been very understanding.

Again, my heartfelt thanks to all.

Diane

New Hours

I just wanted to give everyone an update on the New Hours for the shop.  I will be open Tuesday through Friday from:  Noon-4:00 pm. If you need a special time/day for drop-offs or pick-ups please call (734) 324-0092 and I will try to make arrangements with you.

My husband, Steve, has been diagnosis with lung cancer and he has had a few complication recently.

So with all that is going on, I need to cut back on the hours.   At the moment my turn around time is 4 months.  For everyone that has quilts waiting to be completed, I’m on schedule.

I appreciate all the prayers.
